It's been so long since Ezra saw any of them. The ache of missing them is always there, sharper when he lets himself think about them. He'd even be glad to see Chopper, he thinks, though of course he'd rather see Hera, Sabine, or Zeb.
But at least he's got Kanan. That goes a long way to help dull the ache.
"They're a lot slower than what we're used to," he warns. "But it's still kind of fun to watch them.
Wanna go after breakfast? I don't know what you had planned for today."
Probably training, or missions, or both, Ezra knows, but there's still something nice about that to hear. The air around him warms with appreciation, and maybe even smells a little nicer, something like baked apples and space waffles - smells he associates with the two places he'd ever called home before coming here.
"We can probably still do some of the things you wanted to do, too. I don't mind." That being said, though, he pushes his bowl over - again letting it scrape on the table for Kanan's ears - to offer him some of the piled-high fruit. Breakfast first, and then they can get started with just spending time together.

The best gift he feels like he could ever get.
